The
rumble of
classic engines,
gleaming chrome,
and memories of
bygone days will
return to
downtown
Fayette, MO,
when the Fayette
Festival of the
Arts Classic Car
Show rolls into
town on
Saturday, August
1, 2026.
From 9 am
to 1 pm, Davis
Street adjacent
to the Howard
County
Courthouse
Square will be
transformed into
an outdoor
showcase of
automotive
history as
owners display
vehicles ranging
from lovingly
restored
classics to
survivor cars
that have stood
the test of
time. Sponsored
by Community
Auto Sales and
Service, the
show is one of
the featured
attractions of
this year's
Fayette Festival
of the Arts.
For many
participants,
the event is
about more than
horsepower and
polished paint.
Every vehicle
has a story — a
first car, a
family project,
a long-awaited
restoration, or
a treasured
piece of history
preserved for
future
generations.
Visitors will
have the
opportunity to
meet owners,
learn about
their vehicles,
and vote for
their favorite
in the People's
Choice
competition.
Trophies
will be awarded
in the
categories of
1970s and
Before, 1970s
and Up,
Survivor, and
People's Choice.
Whether your
passion is
muscle cars,
convertibles,
vintage
cruisers, or
unique
automotive
treasures, there
will be
something to
admire.
Admission
to both the
Classic Car Show
and the Fayette
Festival of the
Arts is free,
making it an
ideal outing for
families and car
enthusiasts
alike.
Vehicle
owners
interested in
displaying their
cars must
preregister as
space is
limited.
Pre-registration
is available
online at
www.fayettefestival.org/car.html
or in person at
Community Auto
Sales and
Service, 306 S.
Church Street in
Fayette.
The
Classic Car Show
is just one part
of a full day of
entertainment
and activities.
Festival
attendees can
also enjoy live
music, food
vendors,
children's
activities, a
cake auction,
the 25th Annual
Fayette Art
Show, a quilt
show, and a
variety of
family-friendly
attractions on
or near the
Courthouse
square.
Whether
you're reliving
memories,
searching for
your dream car,
or simply
enjoying a
summer day in
Fayette, the
Classic Car Show
offers a chance
to celebrate
craftsmanship,
history, and the
enduring love
affair Americans
have with their
automobiles
